The first four games of the year are all non-region games and all difficult challenges. Then we have a run of six straight region games to end the season. The non-region schedule is one of the hardest we have had, but we feel it will prepare us to compete in region play.
Coach Mac Bryan
Q: How would you characterize this year’s team?
A: This team is hungry and excited to take this program to the next level. They know the only way to accomplish that is to work hard and win each and every day.
Q: What will be the keys to your success?
A: The defense must be dominant as the offense gains experience early. We have a strong group of seniors that will be counted on to provide leadership.
Q: Who will be your key leaders on the team?
A: Jeremiah Jackson (Sr., LB), Rashun Freeman (Sr., WR/DB), Nick Putman (Sr., DL), Tyler Reid (Sr., LB), Taylor Stutz (Sr., LB), Lorenzo Pickett (Sr., Y/DL), London Elrod (Sr., QB), Peyton Oliver (Sr., WR), Blake Smith (Sr., WR), Aidan Panni (Sr., OL), Chris Smith (Sr., OL)
Q: What are your biggest reasons for optimism?
A: We seem to have more team depth than usual, and overall team speed is a strength.
Q: What will keep you up at night?
A: Depth and injuries. You want to keep everyone healthy and have quality depth to roll kids and keep them rested.
Q: What can you build on from last year?
A: Returning a defense that had four shutouts and held teams to 13.1 points per game, and four returning starters on the offensive line.
Q: Any Lessons Learned from last year?
A: We have to be more efficient running the football. We must cover people up front and make the dirty runs at the running back position.
